Haven Insurance is one of the few motor insurance firms to have their main office in Gibraltar. They began operations back in 2002 by providing both home and vehicle insurance policies. Their policies are in compliance with both UK and EU standards called Solvency II. They are a privately owned insurance company that can provide policies for those drivers that are having difficulty finding a policy that fits their needs and situations.

What types of policies does Haven offer?

This firm has 7 different categories of policies they issue to their clients, including;

• Private cars for social, pleasure and domestic uses along with those that must have a telemetric device or short term and temporary policies. The levels of cover include Comprehensive, Third Party Fire and Theft along with Third Party Only.
• Taxi policies include both Haven PCO car insurance for private hire types and public taxis. Cover can be billed annually or as a temporary policy.
• Motor Trade road risk cover is made for the professionals in the vehicle trader business.
• Fleet policies are designed to meet the special needs of a taxi business along with those with a courier business and credit hire service.
• Commercial vehicle policies to meet a wide variety of needs for businesses in the UK.
• Learner Driver policies are issued on a short term basis to help a person obtain a driving licence.
• Household cover for both the occupied and unoccupied buildings. These can be for the long or short term.

Does Haven insurance cover you for driving outside the UK?

Provided that Your Car is being used for social, domestic and pleasure, Haven will provide you with the minimum level of cover for Your Car required by law in any country which Is a member of the European Union. Current members are :

Haven fleet insurance policies

Taxi insurance is one of Haven’s leading products aimed at private hire and public hire taxi drivers.  In addition, they also offer taxi fleet insurance, commercial and credit hire insurance. Credit hire insurance is cover for vehicles hired out to customers on credit terms. Credit hire refers to drivers that hire out a vehicle whilst their own vehicle is being repaired. The cost of the hire vehicle will be claimed for under the insurance policy of the driver at fault.
